Background

In 2001, after working in the pharmaceutical industry, I taught secondary School Science, specialising in Chemistry GCSE, A level and IB. In 2011, I took the opportunity to teach in Primary School. Seeing the challenges of some children encouraged me to discover why some people struggle to learn more than others and how they can be supported to achieve their potential. I worked with Dyslexia Action in Leeds before starting my own business. Since 2017, I have specialised in maths learning difficulties, including dyscalculia. In addition to specialist teaching and assessing, I have experience as a visiting lecturer, external moderator and specialist teacher for the learning and cognition team (LEA). I am now working towards becoming an ADHD coach.

How I can help

Initial free consultation for parents, students, employees and employers. A thirty-minute meeting to discuss your concerns and advise on the options available to you.

Assessment of learning and cognition to inform intervention in school. A full diagnostic assessment of dyslexia and/or maths learning difficulties/dyscalculia to inform the person/family/school/University on the nature and impact of difficulties.

Consultancy, Mentoring and Workshops for schools, colleges and workplaces

I offer packages to work alongside staff to understand what is working well, identify any barriers, and develop a solution-based approach with workshops and mentoring for staff in delivering best practices when working with neurodiversity.

Specialist Tuition for significant difficulties learning maths and study skills.

Executive Functioning Skills Training

I offer a ten-week programme Seeing My Time, to students and families, and adults who want to learn more about how to manage their time through understanding how the brain works and can be supported in everyday tasks.

Executive Functioning Skills in the Classroom is a bespoke intervention that is delivered to individual students or a small group of students in school. Schools can request training for staff to develop their understanding and knowledge to support executive functioning skills in class.
