Background

I have taught all age groups within the primary age range and have been a SENCO for over 12 years. Early on in my teaching career I developed an interest in supporting children with additional needs. Upon taking my first SENCO role I found that there was a need within school to support children who were experiencing significant difficulties with reading and writing. I qualified as a specialist dyslexia teacher in 2012 and found this invaluable in supporting children, staff and parents. I am looking forward to working with the Dyslexia Alliance Yorkshire team and providing support to learners who struggle with reading and writing.

How I can help

I am able to offer hourly specialist teaching sessions at St Matthew’s C of E (A) Primary School in Leeds on a Wednesday afternoon. As I am a qualified specialist teacher of dyslexia I will create a multisensory programme based on the individual needs for your child. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, creative, be as much fun as possible and pride myself on the ability to understand and support each individual. I believe that it is essential to liaise with parents and school in order to provide the very best support for your child.
