BEd (Hons), Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy (Distinction), APC, MDG.

Background

I have a post-graduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy from York University and a current Dyslexia Guild Assessment Practising Certificate that allows me to carry out diagnostic assessments for dyslexia.

I have been teaching and supporting dyslexic learners, from seven year olds to adults, since 2005, often liaising with their teachers or employers. I have worked with GCSE and A level students and also supported university students with their assignments and dissertations. I am very aware of the complex difficulties that characterise dyslexia, but fully appreciate that every learner has a unique profile of strengths and weaknesses. I have kept up with current research on dyslexia and new approaches to assessing this specific learning difficulty.

How I can help

I work hard to deliver learning support programmes in a supportive and relaxed environment that target individual needs, increase confidence and ensure progress. My Practicing Certificate allows me to carry out diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and Exam Access Arrangements.

Should you wish to contact me for an assessment or teaching support please email me at Dyslexia Alliance Yorkshire.
