Background

I have spent many years teaching those who are struggling with Dyslexia. I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of students from children through to adults and in various settings such as schools and colleges. Working with Dyslexia Alliance Yorkshire means that I am also able to draw on the skills and expertise of my colleagues.

How I can help

In consultation with each student, or their parents, I plan, deliver, and monitor appropriate teaching programmes which enable my students to crack the literacy code and develop their skills. After each lesson, I report back to parents and teachers in weekly emails.  I welcome contact with SENDCos and class teachers. I believe children and young people benefit from strong partnerships between their parents and teachers. The nuts and bolts of lessons are reading and spelling, but I try to help my students develop a love of reading, whilst improving their creative writing skills.  I aim for my students to make progress and to reach their potential.

I teach some lessons in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, and others in Bingley.

If I can be of any help, please email me at Dyslexia Alliance Yorkshire.
